Our Story
The Wedding Suit Guy is a division of Baron's Wholesale Clothiers, Inc. A 3rd generation family firm with deep ties in both the clothing industry and Detroit. Founded in 1933 by Nathan "Toddy" Elkus in downtown Detroit, Todd's Clothes was (and is) a fashion leader. Toddy made his mark in the apparel industry by designing what became known as the Zoot Suit.
Over time, Nate's son, Philip, expanded Todd's boutiques throughout Michigan. Philip eventually decided to close or sell the Todd's stores and focus on two concepts; Baron's and The Clothing Warehouse. Baron's is designed to sell to retailers, personal shoppers, tailor shops, and businesses that use clothing as uniforms or need a polished image (sales teams, management teams, financial organizations, church groups, security details, even Shriners). The Clothing Warehouse was a novel concept in 1973 offering deep discounts and a self-serve environment. The Clothing Warehouse quickly caught on. Philip's son, David, joined the business and helped expand these stores throughout the Detroit area. The Clothing Warehouse was purchased by The Men's Wearhouse in 1998.
Today we continue to operate Baron's, and, have re-opened Todd's as a value-priced, contemporary fashion men's store. We also operate eSuit, eTuxedo, eCufflink, and eBlazer. Our staff of well educated sales professionals are ready to assist you with your clothing needs.
